Nursery & School Sessions
We have been using ‘Singing Hands’ for over 3 years now at our pre-school, they are always very professional, child centred and most of all they are fun for the children and their visits are very welcomed.
There are many reason I see that they benefit our setting
- They introduce the use of Early Makaton signs thought music to our children, parents and staff in a very relaxed atmosphere
- They have a very good knowledge and understanding of under fives and their development needs
- They make it fun and very interactive for the whole group
- They insure all children’s individual needs are met
- They have great experience of working in a inclusive environment ,ensuring all our children have a positive experience from their visit
- They bring a new positive approach to our children with special education and emotional needs
- They help greatly the children with communication difficulties
- They have helped our children who are bilingual
- They have empowered the staff to feel better at song time and our music time has improved greatly
There are so many benefits they bring to our setting, to many to list .The best way to judge is to experience a session and you will not regret it at all. They will work well in any childcare setting and bring a new extended learning experience to any curriculum.

Singing Hands have been regular visitors to Playwam Pre-School for 3 years. The programme of songs and fun signing have captivated and extended our children. Suzanne and Tracy bring a wide selection of songs and rhymes to life and ensure it is appropriate for all ages and abilities.
We have been greatly impressed by the level of concentration achieved by the children not only during the programme but in activities we follow through with. Playwam are happy to recommend Singing Hands. Enjoy!

‘Singing Hands’ came to visit us in the autumn term 2006 because we are all learning Makaton in our Foundation Unit. The unit at Kenyngton Manor Primary school is in a mainstream school. We feel that Makaton signing helps everyone learn together. It helps develop the understanding of concepts, engages visual and kinaesthetic learners, gives a universal approach in our teaching and is an aid for the children to communicate. Above all this learning and using Makaton is fun for everyone.
‘Singing Hands’ came with their amazing voices and props to entertain us for the morning. The children were fascinated by the new signs and loved to show off their knowledge. Suzanne and Tracy made the session exciting and were inspiring with their enthusiasm! All the children enjoyed the sessions and went away singing and signing, as did the staff!!
An engaging and entertaining time was had by all, thank you! :)

April 2007 – The spring term at Lindon Bennett School for children with severe learning difficulties ended with two magical concerts led by Suzanne and Tracy of Singing Hands. These two Makaton experts brought the songs they sang to life with their enthusiasm, sense of fun, choreography and boundless energy. Every child (and staff members alike) was totally absorbed by their charisma and maintained concentration for the whole of the sessions joining in wherever possible. It was without doubt the perfect ending to a long and busy term and one we will certainly repeat!

Many thanks to Singing Hands for coming to visit us ‘Up North’ in Darlington! We hope you enjoyed your day as much as we enjoyed having you with us. Your professionalism and natural manner proved to be a winning combination and you had every one of our beautiful children, and the adults, thoroughly involved in the sessions. Thank you for making it a truly memorable day which the whole family could be involved in regardless of age or ability. We can’t wait for you to visit us again!

Many thanks to the ECCDS for organising such a great event for our families. Singing Hands were absolutely fantastic! Suzanne and Tracy were a winning combination and kept all our children mesmerised. Their professional manner and personal touch of using every child’s name and involving everyone in the session was very special and much appreciated by the parents. When are they coming again…..?!!

Tracy and Suzanne came along to Arbourvale back in March 2006. We invited them to come along because most of our children in Primary use Makaton every day. The session was a great success and captured the attention of all the students (and staff – of course!)
The use of signing, singing, instruments and props made this a very enjoyable and unforgettable morning. The staff went away full of enthusiasm after watching Tracy and Suzanne in action and they still use some of the songs and rhymes in their class sessions.
I would highly recommend Singing Hands! Thank you very much and we look forward to more memorable sessions.

And on two occasions when we were booked for sessions, OFSTED were carrying out inspections at the settings:
In March 2008, we spent the day at Feltham Hill Primary School. We have visited this school on several occasions as part of their music enrichment programme. In March 2008, the OFSTED Inspector sat through our session and gave us some lovely feedback at the end. The official report said:
Visits and visitors enrich their life experiences and help the pupils to visualise what they are learning. Visiting performers present lively music and drama sessions and use good techniques to ensure all pupils, including those most vulnerable, are included in the lesson
Feltham Hill Primary School received an OUTSTANDING for their OFSTED inspection.
In February 2008 Tracy was singing at IvyTree Nursery in Hampton Hill there when OFSTED were carrying out an inspection. Cynthia at IvyTree also received an OUTSTANDING for the inspection at her nursery. Tracy was mentioned in the report:
A delightful visitor into the setting sang with the children helping them to learn Makaton signing
