Inspired by James Corden, we’ve decided to start a Makaton Carpool Karaoke series for a bit of fun – and what better song to do towards the end of the Summer Term than Cliff’s ‘Summer Holiday’!
Here’s the Makaton sign translation – it’s nice and simple with only a couple of signs per line:
We’re all going on a summer holiday (GO / SUMMER / HOLIDAY)
No more working for a week or two. (NO / WORK / WEEK / TWO)
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday, (LAUGH / LAUGH / SUMMER / HOLIDAY)
No more worries for me or you, (NO / WORRY / ME / YOU)
For a week or two. (WEEK / TWO)
We’re going where the sun shines brightly (GO / SUN / SHINE)
We’re going where the sea is blue. (GO / SEA / BLUE)
We’ve all seen it on the movies, (TO SEE / CINEMA)
Now let’s see if it’s true. (TO SEE / TRUE)
Everybody has a summer holiday (ALL / SUMMER / HOLIDAY)
Doin’ things they always wanted to (TO DO / THINGS / WANT)
So we’re going on a summer holiday, (GO / SUMMER / HOLIDAY)
To make our dreams come true (DREAM / TRUE)
For me and you.(ME / YOU)
For me and you. (ME / YOU)
Have a lovely Summer!
